T20 World Cup: England, Scotland share points after Barbados rain washes out group clash

England vs Scotland shared points in Barbados after their Group B clash was washed out due to rain. The match was interrupted by rain multiple times on the day and was eventually called off after almost four hours and 20 minutes of its scheduled start at 8 PM. The match was earlier cut off to 10 overs per side, but once the rain persisted after the conclusion of the Scotland innings, the game was called off.

Scotland had opted to bat first after winning the toss and were rewarded for the choice after the new ball’s swing died out. They were positive with the bat and scored some lovely boundaries. England were guilty of mis-fields in the game and to everyone’s shock failed to pick up a single wicket.

T20 World Cup: ENG vs SCO Highlights

Scotland’s George Munsey and Michael Jones remained unbeaten at the end of the 10 overs, helping Scotland reach a total of 90 runs. With the rain rushing in right after the powerplay when they had just crossed fifty runs, Scotland had to wait for a long time to get back in the field. After they walked in, Munsey tried out a few of his classic slog sweeps and helped Scotand get to a competitive score.

England were handed a target of 109 runs from 10 overs but never managed to come out to bat in the second innings of the match.
