Hours after Nitin Fauji’s arrest in a joint operation, the Rajasthan police on Sunday began its interrogation. Fauji is one of the accused in the murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, and was arrested along with his two other associates, Rohit Rathore and Udham, in Chandigarh on the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday.
During questioning, the police asked Fauji about his links with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang member Rohit Godara, who, in a Facebook post, claimed responsibility for Gogamedi’s murder.
The police also asked him about his links with the weapon supplier and Godara’s associate, Virendra Charan. He was also questioned about whether he received any money for murdering Gogamedi.
During the interrogation, Fauji was also asked about his links with two other accused – Naveen Shekhawat and Rohit Rathore. The police further asked him about his associates who helped him to escape after the crime.
Fauji was also if Rohit Godara shared any “fake passport or visa” with him and his other associates.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s murder
Gogamedi was gunned down in the living room of his house in Rajasthan’s Jaipur on December 5. CCTV footage showing the assailants opening fire at Gogamedi had surfaced recently.
The police had identified the two killers as Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana’s Mahendragarh, and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to their arrests.
According to the police, Ramveer Jat, one of the conspirators in the murder, had prepared the groundwork for Fauji — his friend — in Jaipur ahead of the killing.
The accused had entered Gogamedi’s home on the pretext of meeting him and, after talking for a few minutes, opened fire at him.
They also shot dead their accomplice, Naveen Shekhawat, through whom they had secured access to Gogamedi’s residence.
