The All India Management Association (AIMA) is gearing up to introduce an updated version of the Management Aptitude Test (MAT), known as MAT 2.0, in the upcoming examination sessions scheduled for May and June.

This evolved iteration of the MAT exam aims to encompass a broader spectrum of topics, including current business and economic trends, in order to better prepare aspiring management professionals for the challenges of the contemporary corporate world.

EVOLUTION OF MAT 2.0

In response to numerous requests and feedback from various business schools and stakeholders, AIMA has made the decision to revamp the MAT exam.

The updated MAT 2.0 will undergo significant adjustments in its question patterns and structure, with a focus on incorporating sections that align with the emerging trends and demands of the business landscape.

Daljeet Singh, Director AIMA, emphasised the necessity of adapting the MAT exam to reflect the evolving business environment, particularly with the increasing influence of Fintech and technology.

Singh states, “We are now placing greater emphasis on topics traditionally overlooked in management education, thereby equipping aspiring students with the knowledge and skills essential for success in today’s dynamic business environment.”

FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

MAT 2.0 seeks to provide candidates with a fresh perspective on management education, offering insights aligned with contemporary industry practices and growing educational requirements.

This updated version of the exam aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application, ensuring that management graduates are equipped with the requisite skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of modern business environments.

EXAM SCHEDULE AND ELIGIBILITY

The MAT 2.0 exam will be conducted through various modes, including the Paper Based Test (PBT) on June 2 and the Computer Based Test (CBT) on May 26.

Additionally, Internet Based Tests (IBT) will be available on different dates throughout May, with registration deadlines varying accordingly.

As for eligibility criteria, graduates from any discipline or final-year students of graduate courses are eligible to apply for the MAT 2.0 exam.

The examination fee for MAT May 2024 is Rs 2,100, with the option for candidates to opt for additional test modes by paying an extra fee of Rs 1,200.

With the introduction of MAT 2.0, AIMA aims to provide aspiring management professionals with a comprehensive and contemporary evaluation platform, ensuring that they are well-prepared to excel in today’s competitive business landscape.
