Manager of private firm arrested for stealing valuables from company in Bengaluru

The Jayanagar police on Tuesday arrested a 40-year-old manager of a private firm and recovered 1.4 kg of gold valuables and 1 kg of silver articles worth ₹89.09 lakh, which he had allegedly stolen from his office in the last few years.

Karthik, a resident of Tyagarajanagar, was working as a manager in the firm owned by Ashok Paras Rampuria for the last 20 years. The office-cum-residence was situated in Jayanagar 4th Block and Mr. Rampuria used to be out of town most of the time.

The police said that Karthik allegedly managed to get a duplicate key of the cupboard and stole valuables in small quantities. The accused would pawn the stolen valuables to pay his loans.

The theft came to light on July 26, when Mr. Rampuria noticed the missing valuables and filed a complaint with the police.

The police kept a watch on the accused and allegedly caught him red-handed along with the duplicate key.
