Kings XI Punjab death-overs specialist Chris Jordan has attested that the team’s camaraderie and joint spirit is second to none in this IPL 2020 competition. The 2nd game, between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in Dubai, of Sunday’s doubleheader day in IPL 2020 first ended in a tie. KXIP were the adjudged winners of the game after two Super Over battles, since the first one ended in a tie, fought between the two teams.
With their 3rd win in IPL 2020, KXIP have climbed up the ranks and reached to the No.6 spot from being bottom-ranked for the longest time. Jordan, bowling against Mumbai Indians in the 1st innings, gave away 20 runs in the 20th over. Bowling in the 2nd Super Over, Jordan conceded 11 runs and finally won the game for Punjab.
“I feel like the way we have played a lot of our games this season, they could have been very easily ended with us on the winning side. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I think from the last two games, the kind of team spirit and camaraderie we have shown as an entire team and entire franchise has been second to none,” Kings XI Punjab death over specialist Chris Jordan said during the post-match press conference.
Kings XI Punjab won Sunday’s game, against Mumbai Indians, by winning the 2nd Super Over of the match. After having tied at identical scores of 176/6, the two teams in question fought out in a Super Over battle but tied the Super Over as well that led to another such battle. Chasing a target of 177, captain KL Rahul scored a splendid 51-ball 77 but fell to Bumrah in the 18th over.
Jordan was in complete awe of the legendary Chris Gayle, who launched Trent Boult for a first-ball six in the 2nd Super Over, whose impact in the last two games have been unparalleled for KXIP this season.
“KL has been leading from the front and obviously, Mayank did not come off today but both of them have been giving us tremendous start at the top. It has not been reckless cricket, it has been controlled shots and good running between the wicket. You can see the impact the legend himself, Gayle, made in the last two games. It is great to have, what I considered to be a great of the game, in our team. His energy is unbelievable,” Jordan added.
