Several residents of Uttar Pradesh’s Dankaur spotted an ‘Iron Man balloon’ filled with gas over the town but thought it was an alien.

Residents of a town in Uttar Pradesh were in for a shock after a balloon in the shape of fictional character Iron Man let loose in the skies sparked fears of an alien invasion, news agency PTI reports citing police officials.
The gas balloon resembled a robot and was spotted over Dankaur town in Greater Noida on Saturday morning.
WHAT HAPPENED IN DANKAUR?
Several residents of Dankaur spotted an ‘Iron Man balloon’ filled with gas over the town but thought it was an alien. The balloon later landed in a canal near the Bhatta Parsaul village. Officials said that a crowd gathered at the spot to witness the scenario and spot what some of them thought was “an alien”.
“It was a balloon filled with air that had gone up in the sky and later came down and got stuck in the bushes along the canal. A part of the balloon was touching the flowing water in the canal which had led the balloon to shake a little. Unbeknown to the spectators, this made for an anxious watch,” Dankaur police official Anil Kumar Pandey told PTI.
WHY WERE DANKAUR RESIDENTS ANXIOUS?
Anil Kumar Pandey told PTI that people were anxious after seeing the shape of the balloon. “It was shaped like the Iron Man (fictional superhero character) given its colour and design. This was an unusual sight so some people even thought it was an alien, or something like that, and were apprehensive,” Pandey added.
NOTHING HARMFUL
The balloon must have ran out of gas, the officials said, adding that there was “nothing harmful in the object but it is yet to be known who let it loose it in the air.”
WHO IS IRON MAN?
Iron Man is a fictional superhero character and is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey Jr. played Iron Man in Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Iron Man, The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
