Drone video of California’s eerie orange haze with Blade Runner 2049 music scares Twitter. Watch

California is right now facing a major crisis as a massive lightning-sparked wildfire is raging in the area, threatening thousands of homes and other structures. The situation has been going on since more than three weeks now. According to reports, the fire roared to life after being stoked by high winds and consequently spread at a ferocious rate across mountainous terrain and parched foothills, destroying an untold number of homes.

As a result of the wildfire, a thick smoke choked the air on Wednesday and casted an eerie orange hue across the region. The internet was full of residents of the Bay Area, San Francisco and Oakland in California, US sharing pictures of the frightful scene.

While people have shared several pictures, one video has particularly horrified netizens. A drone footage of San Francisco covered with disorienting orange skies and the music from the film Blade Runner 2049 playing in the background has gone viral online. And it is disturbing.

According to the tweet, the clip was made by a YouTuber named Terry Tsai. The drone footage was originally shot by a YouTuber called DoctorSbaitso.

The video looks straight out of a dystopian movie scene, but the scary part is that it is real, and that is what is scaring the netizens the most.

Since being shared, the clip has gone crazy viral and has been tweeted multiple times on Twitter. See some of the reactions:

Before this, many other Twitter user had also compared the scenes in California with Blade Runner 2049. See the tweets:

Blade Runner 2049 came out in 2017. It was a long-awaited follow-up of the 1982 sci-fi classic. The movie also had scenes that had distinctively orange and hazy scenes, and it was set in a desolate future Las Vegas. And this makes the comparison even scarier.
