Nagpur: ‘Artificial Intelligence’ can be better used if it is called ‘assisting intelligence’ as it assists to fine-tune and simplify the complicated and lengthy pharma-related process, said Dr Shridhar Reddy, global head, Hetero, Hyderabad.

Reddy was addressing a session on ‘Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacovigilance: A boon for patient safety’ at the IPC. The session was chaired by Dr CN Patel and co-chaired by Dr MR Tajne.

He said that AI is a boon for the pharma sector as it speeds up the process of reporting disease and keeps track of patient data. “Under reporting of data is the biggest issue faced worldwide and AI offers solutions with data management dossier systems. The pharmacology vigilance market has grown and gained importance,” he said.
