The growth of a $190 billion-plus knowledge-based export services economy in the IT-ITeS sector points to thedepth of India’s entrepreneurial and human capital. This is also reflected in India’s ranking 12th in the number ofscience and engineering graduates in the world, and 16th in the list of R&D intensive global companies.

This is the result of some dramatic improvements in innovation parameters across various sectors.India’s GII rank has jumped 33 places since 2015, when it was ranked 81st.It leads in the Central and South Asia region and is third in the lower middleincome group of economies.
