Chirag Paswan continued to attack the JD(U) and thus, it seems to have damaged the prospects of JDU i in different parts of the state. LJP contested a total 137 seats.
An example is Rohtas district’s Dinara seat where LJP fielded Rajendra Singh, a rebel of the BJP. Though BJP expelled Rajendra Singh from the party for six years, his presence in fray from the Dinara Seat as nominee of LJP badly affected the prospect of JDU nominee Jai Kumar Singh, who was a minister in the Nitish government. RJD candidate Vijay Kumar Mandal was leading by a margin of more than 8000 votes.
Another seat in the same district is Sasaram from where LJP fielded Rameshwar Prasad Chaurasia, a rebel of the BJP. Rameshwar, who was expelled from the BJP, could bag more than 15000 votes. His presence in the fray hit the interest of JDU nominee Ashok Kumar Singh. In this seat, RJD candidate Rajesh Kumar Gupta was leading by a margin of more than 15000 votes by his nearest rival JDU nominee Ashok Kumar.
In Chenari, which is adjacent to Sasaram, LJP candidate’s presence affected the fate of JDU nominee and sitting MLA Lalan Paswan. Congress nominee Murari Prasad Gautam was leading in Chenari by a margin of more than 16000 votes by his nearest rival and JDU nominee Lallan Paswan.
In Kasba, Pradeep Kumar, an old hand of BJP, was LJP’s choice for this seat. In ruling NDA alliance, this seat was allotted to HAM. Afaque Alam of Congress was leading in this seat. HAM nominee Rajendra Yadav was remaining on third position.
LJP also fielded its candidate in Dumraon seat of Buxar district. CPI (ML) candidate Ajit Kumar Singh was leading by a margin of about 20,000 votes. The votes bagged by LJP candidate Akhilesh Singh was around 4700. Akhilesh Singh was from Rajpur caste which is considered to be traditional supporters of NDA.
IN Bhore seat (Gopalganj), JDU nominee Sunil Kumar, who is retired IPS official, was leading by a margin of more than 500 votes. LJP fielded one Pushpa Devi in Bhore. Pushpa has bagged 4362 votes, as per information available on ECI’s website.
Another seat where LJP has hurt the JDU nominee is Sandesh in Bhojpur district. RJD nominee (75599 votes) was leading from his nearest rival JDU nominee Vijendra Yadav. LJP candidate Shweta Singh bagged more than 28000 votes.
Another JDU nominee and Bihar Minister Krishnanandan Verma was trailing in Jenahanabad seat. AS per information available on ECI’s website, RJD nominee Kumar Krishnamohan bagged 75030 votes. LJP nominee Indu Devi Kashyap got 24176 votes and it apparently damaged the prospects of JDU nominee.
