Akhilesh Yadav, Jayant Chaudhary raise BJP’s ‘negative politics’ to woo voters

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary are constantly trying to consolidate their vote bank in the name of brotherhood and corner BJP for “negative” politics. The two leaders visited Kairana in Shamli district and Ghaziabad to campaign for their party candidates for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Kairana always draws attention as the BJP has been raising the issue of exodus of Hindus from the area during SP rule in the state.

“Those talking of the Kairana exodus will have to migrate out of Uttar Pradesh after the assembly polls. They (BJP) are only indulging in politics of negativity,” Yadav said on Wednesday during a press conference in Shamli. “The SP-RLD tie-up stands for brotherhood. It’s a fight between Bhaichara Vs BJP in UP,” he said.

RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary raised the issue of farmers and said nothing has been given to farmers of UP in the union budget on Tuesday. “Usually, budget carries something for states going for elections. But in this budget, the farmer, the youth and the state have been completely ignored,” he said.

Both leaders carried sugarcane in their hands during their public contact programme at Loni, Ghaziabad. The region is known for sugarcane producing farmers and Yadav promised to clear the dues over sugarcane within 15 days if the SP-led alliance comes to power.

“This is a sugarcane region and farmers want timely payment and better price for their sugarcane. They trust SP-RLD and we will deliver this for them,” Yadav said in Ghaziabad during his Vijay Rath Yatra.
