As many as 580 cases of adverse events following Immunization have been reported so far. Two persons have died following vaccination but one of the deaths is not related to Covid vaccination and in another case, post mortem report is awaiting, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in a statement. Meanwhile, Maharashtra is scheduled to begin the Covid vaccination drive today.

Out of the 580 cases of adverse events, 7 individuals were hospitalised – 3 cases in Delhi, 2 cases in Karnataka, and 1 each in Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, Serum Institute of India, who has inked pact to manufacture Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine in India, on Tuesday shipped as many as 30 boxes of Oxford-developed Covid-19 vaccine Covishield from its facility in Pune (Maharashtra) to Hyderabad in Telangana.
The Indian government on Tuesday issued a fresh Letter of Comfort to Bharat Biotech for another 45 lakh doses of its Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin. Of the 45 lakh doses, over 8 lakh doses will be supplied to some of the friendly countries such as Mauritius, the Philippines, and Myanmar, free of cost as good will gesture. The Hyderabad-based firm has earlier received purchase order for 55 lakh doses of Covaxin from the government.
