A 24-year-old woman police official was critically injured on Wednesday after a speeding car collided with her scooter in Chennai.

According to the Chennai Police, the accident happened when Pavithra, a resident of Chennai’s Thirumullaivayal area, was going to her residence from Porur’s all-women police station, where she was posted.

The speeding car lost control while taking a sharp turn and hit Pavithra’s scooter after crossing over to the opposite side of the road, police said.
