Days after the monsoon session of Parliament ended, Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu has tested Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.
The office of the Vice-President put out a tweet saying that Naidu had undergone a Covid-19 test in the morning and had tested positive for the virus.
The 71-year-old Vice-President is asymptomatic as of now and is in good health, the VP Secretariat informed.
“The Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning has been tested positive. He is, however, asymptomatic and in good health,” the Secretariat tweeted.

His wife Usha Naidu was found to be Covid-19 negative but has gone under self-isolation.
Last week, Naidu had presided over the monsoon session of the Rajya Sabha, which was adjourned sine die on September 23.
While the session was initially supposed to end on October 1, it was concluded ahead of time due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic. Atleast 25 legislators had tested coronavirus positive during the monsoon session which began on September 14.
