The newly-launched Kia Sonet has made a grand entry into the Indian market, becoming the largest-selling sub-4metre SUV (compact SUV) with sales of 9,266 units in September 2020. The Kia Sonet is followed by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza at the second spot with 9,153 units sold during the month. At the third spot is the Hyundai Venue with 8,469 units. The Tata Nexon is at the fourth position with 6,007 units. Wrapping up the top five bestsellers list is the Mahindra Bolero at the fifth position with 5,797 units.

Kia Sonet – 9,266 units

The Kia Sonet was launched in India on September 18, 2020. It is priced between Rs 6.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It gets three engine and five transmission options — Smartstream 1.2-litre petrol (83PS/115Nm) with 5-speed MT, Smartstream 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol (120PS/172Nm) with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT, and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel (100PS/240Nm – WGT and 115PS/250Nm – VGT) with 6-speed MT (WGT) and 6-speed AT (VGT).

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza – 9,153 units

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is available in the price range of Rs 7.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is powered by a K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine (105PS/138Nm) that can be paired either with a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT.

Hyundai Venue – 8,469 units

The Hyundai Venue is priced between Rs 6.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 11.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Venue is currently available with three engine and five transmission options — 1.2-litre Kappa petrol (83PS/114Nm) with 5-speed MT, 1.0-litre Kappa Turbo-GDI petrol (120PS/172Nm) with 6-speed iMT, 6-speed MT and 7-speed DCT and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel (100PS/240Nm) with 6-speed MT.

Tata Nexon – 6,007 units

The Tata Nexon price starts at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes up to Rs 12.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Nexon gets a couple of engine options — Revotron 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (120PS/170Nm) and Revotorq 1.5-litre diesel (110PS/260Nm). Both the powertrains have 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT choices.

Mahindra Bolero – 5,797 units

The Mahindra Bolero price ranges from Rs 8.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 9.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Bolero gets a 1.5-litre mHAWK75 diesel engine (77PS and 210Nm) paired with a 5-speed MT.
