Telugu superstar Allu Arjun was arrested and later granted interim bail on December 13 in connection with the death of a 39-year-old woman named Revathi during a stampede at the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule at the iconic Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. While Allu Arjun’s calm demeanour was much appreciated, it was also the Telugu film fraternity’s unity which was on full display for the entire world.
It was a difficult five hours for Allu Arjun and his family. On December 12, the actor approached the Telangana High Court seeking the dismissal of the case related to Revathi’s death. However, on December 13, he was arrested by the Chikkadapally police in connection with the incident. Although the Nampally court remanded him to 14-day judicial custody, the High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks. He was released from the jail on December 14.
WHEN MEGA FAMILY ARRIVED AT ALLU ARJUN’S HOME
Soon after the arrest, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun’s uncle, arrived at the actor’s residence to extend his support. Earlier this year, there were reports of a rift between Allu and Mega families after the Pushpa 2 actor extended support to YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) candidate Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy in the recently concluded Andhra Pradesh elections, instead of supporting his uncle, Pawan Kalyan.
However, Allu Arjun’s arrest put an end to these speculations, as Chiranjeevi and his brother, Naga Babu, were among the first ones to stand by Allu Arjun and his family.
