From Bihar Police vs the Mumbai Police to the state of Maharashtra vs the state of Bihar, the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput death has seen many daggers drawn. The latest one being television actors vs others. After Rhea Chakraborty was sent to 14-day judicial custody on September 8 for her role in drug procurement for Sushant Singh Rajput, the late actor’s ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande wrote an open letter, accusing Rhea of being ‘careless and irresponsible’ and blaming it on her ‘karma.’

Soon, Rhea’s friend, Shibani Dandekar, called out Ankita and said that she ‘wants her two seconds of fame and she has got it by targeting Rhea.’

Shibani’s comment didn’t go down well with Ankita and she wrote another open letter, tracing her journey in the television industry. She also wrote that she is a proud television actor. Many TV actors came out in support of Ankita and slammed Shibani for her remark.

ANKITA CALLED RHEA’S ARREST AN ACT OF ‘KARMA’

After Rhea’s arrest, Ankita called the actress’s arrest an act of ‘karma’. She wrote, “Would anyone, who claims to have loved someone so deeply, allow the other person to consume drugs claiming to know his mental state and condition? Would you do that? I don’t think anyone would. So how can it not be seen as an act of carelessness and irresponsibility? As per her, she informed his family about his ongoing treatment but did she ever inform them about his drug consumption? I am sure she didn’t because maybe she, herself, enjoyed consuming it. And this is why I feel it’s Karma/Fate (sic).”

I again clarify, for the reason time and again being asked by the media to me on whether I feel it’s a murder or suicide? I have never said it’s a murder or anyone in particular is responsible. I always have encouraged justice for my late friend SSR and stood by the bereaved family and truth should be brought out by the investigating agencies. Being a Maharashtrian and an Indian citizen, I have total faith in the Maharashtra State Govt/Police & Central Government instrumentalities. Though when some lingos like “Sautan” and “widow” were used for me, which is in public knowledge. I never responded to it. I only came forward to narrate about SSR and his mental health till 2016. Dear Haters! Let us assume you must have known in and out about your friend and whats going on in her life and relationship. Glad to see you wake up finally, but I wish you would have woken up sooner and advised your friend not to support any kind of drug abuse by SSR if any. When she very well knew about his mental state by publicly stating that he was in depression. Should she have allowed a depressed man to consume drugs? How is that going to help? His condition would deteriorate to a level that would make a man take the action that SSR has allegedly taken. She was the closest person to him at that time. On one hand, she says she was coordinating with all the doctors for his betterment of health on request of SSR, and on the other hand, she was coordinating drug logistics for him. Would anyone, who claims to have loved someone so deeply, allow the other person to consume drugs claiming to know his mental state and condition? Would you do that? I don’t think anyone would. So how can it not be seen as an act of carelessness and irresponsibility? As per her, she informed his family about his ongoing treatment but did she ever inform them about his drug consumption? I am sure she didn’t because maybe she, herself, enjoyed consuming it. And this is why I feel it’s Karma/Fate. Little advice for the unknown.”You guard your friend and I am standing by the family”. But let us maintain civility by not coming on to each other personally, either directly or indirectly.

SHIBANI CALLED OUT ANKITA AND SAID SHE TARGETED RHEA FOR ‘2 SECONDS OF FAME’

Shibani wrote that Ankita never dealt with her own relationship issues with Sushant Singh Rajput and called her the ‘princess of patriarchy.’ She wrote, “Such a grotesque letter by @lokhandeankita. This princess of patriarchy who has never dealt with her own relationship issues with Sushant. She obviously wants her two seconds of fame and has got it by targeting Rhea and playing a major role in this witch-hunt. Rather than recognising this system of patriarchy, women like Ankita have jumped on the bandwagon and used it to advance their own agenda destroying centuries of work. What you need to accept Ankita is this… Sushant loved Rhea period. Before you write a letter to your haters, please note that no one has more hate in their heart(?) than you (sic).”

ANKITA HIT BACK SAYING THAT SHE IS A PROUD TELEVISION ACTOR

Ankita responded to Shibani’s tweet saying, “It takes an equal amount of hard work and dedication for the actors in the television industry as it would take in Bollywood. I am proud to be a television actor (sic).”

“2 seconds of fame” This phrase got me thinking today. Coming from a tier 2 city and belonging to a humble background, I had no fancy education to show for myself. I entered the television industry in the year 2004 with a show called Zee Cine Star Ke Khoj. But my real journey began in 2009 with the show “PAVITRA RISHTA” which went on till 2014. I would be doing an injustice if I don’t mention that it was among one of the best shows for 6 consecutive years with the highest GEC TRP on television till date. Fame is only a byproduct of the love and warmth that an actor receives from the masses. Along with all the viewers, I, too still feel connected to the character of “ARCHANA”. Both, my fate and the people have been kind enough to me shower their blessings and love upon me. The aspiration of an actor trying to portray as many different roles and characters as possible, led me to explore. Luckily, I got the opportunity to work in Manikarnika as well as Baghi 3. To conclude, I have been an ACTOR in Television & Bollywood for the past 17 years & now, when I am trying to support justice for my late friend, a view has been expressed that I am seeking JUSTICE because I need 2 seconds of fame and cheap publicity! I cannot fathom as to why any person would take such a stand. Is it because I have worked mostly on television and not in Bollywood? Is that why you would take a stand for the person with whom you have had a relationship for almost a decade? Stop looking down on we television actors, if that was your reason for describing my words as ‘GROTESQUE’ . It takes an equal amount of hard work and dedication for the actors in the television industry as it would take in Bollywood. I am proud to be a television actor. TELEVISION ACTORS CAME OUT IN ANKITA’S SUPPORT

Karanvir Bohra backed Ankita Lokhande and wrote, “I’ve known you back when you and Sushant were together, @lokhandeankita I’ve seen how loving and responsible you were with him. If things didn’t work out, they didn’t work out, but it’s sad to see individuals taking personal jibes without knowing you and him. #Istandwithyou #Ankita Lokhande (sic).”

Aparna Dixit, who is a close friend of Ankita and a former co-star took to Instagram and shared a long note in support of the actor. She wrote, “Okay so I am reading a lot of wrong things being written against her and I decide to stand by my friend @lokhandeankita. As I know her inside out more than anyone of writing false things. As far as the 2 seconds fams is concerned, really? She dealt with a break up with grace and dignity if fame is what she wanted she could have made a big issue out of it long back. Never has she written or talked about anything related to him till it was absolutely necessary. That is NOW. When he is gone and truth needs to be out (sic).”

She added, “Standing by someone’s family after they’ve left us in such a shocking way is the least you could do for someone you were once closely associated to. It needs courage and I am so proud of @lokhandeankita (sic).”

Rashami Desai, who started her TV journey at the same time as Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande and is a good friend of Ankita. She took to social media to slam Shibani Dandekar’s comment. She wrote, “@lokhandeankita you are a big star and people have loved you in all your avatar and as #ankitalokhande. You don’t have to prove it to people…who doesn’t matter to you. #Iloveyou (sic).”

Kushal Tandon wrote, “@lokhandeankita Bollywood coming in support of Rhea with the campaign of #JusticeforRhea is actually – #BehenPlsMeraNaamMatLena (sic).”

Sushant’s sister backed Ankita. She wrote, “Don’t even bother to clarify my dear. We are here for a cause and that is to know the whole truth, and we will keep pursuing that regardless! #WarriorsRoar4SSR (sic).”

Hina Khan wrote, “A person who’s made it in two credible mediums all by herself, a girl who rose from a scratch to become a TV Star n then shone brighter in films..Absolutely doesn’t need ‘2 second fame’ @anky1912 here’s some love for ur grit n journey. Respect shud b equal in all quarters Period!”

Devoleena Bhattacharjee wrote, “Whoever she is but i must say all the day she got that 2secs fame targetting our beloved @anky1912 .I mean like seriously… yeh toh hadd hi hogayee hai. Kahan se chale aate yeh log & kaunse duniya mein jeete hai. More More power to you @anky1912 (sic).”

Kamya Shalabh Dang wrote, “2 mins fame? Seriously? From a man’s death who meant the world to Ankita..??? Only a sick mind can think something like this! Ankita people who know you, they know ur truth as well! Tight hug (sic)”

Meanwhile, many Bollywood celebrities have come out in Rhea Chakraborty’s support. They had shared the quote that was written on Rhea’s T-shirt when she was arrested by the NCB. The quote reads, “Roses are red, violets are blue, let’s smash the patriarchy, me and you.”
