In a major development in the Rajasthan political crisis, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reached the Raj Bhawan to meet Governor Kalraj Mishra on Saturday evening, claiming to have the support of 102 MLAs with him.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot paid a “courtesy visit” to Governor Kalraj Mishra at Raj Bhawan on Saturday.

The development comes hours after two BTP MLAs assured their support to CM Ashok Gehlot.

Two MLAs of the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP), in a joint press conference with state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara on Saturday, said that they support the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan.

BTP legislators Rajkumar Roat and Ramprasad asserted that their party’s president and other leaders have agreed on extending support to the Gehlot government on the condition that demands related to development of the state are fulfilled.

Gehlot camp MLAs are currently staying at the Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur amid the power tussle in the state.

Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot and 18 other Congress dissident MLAs on Friday got a four-day reprieve from any action by the Assembly Speaker on the disqualification notices served on them, after the Rajasthan High Court extended its hearing on the issue to next week.

The division bench of the court, hearing the dissident MLAs’ petition against the Speaker’s notices, adjourned Friday evening. It fixed the next hearing for 10 am on Monday.
