A Solapur resident staged his 3-year-old son’s kidnapping in order to pressurise his wife to return home. His wife had been living at her paternal home and the man kidnapped his son with the help of a friend to force his wife to return to him.
According to a report in The Times of India, the 30-year-old resident of Solapur in Maharashtra was traced to Pimpri Chinchwad along with his son. The man was arrested on charges of kidnapping his own son.
The wife had been living with her parents for some months and the man wanted her back.
The woman’s mother had lodged a complaint with police on Tuesday saying someone had kidnapped her grandson. According to the report, in her complaint the woman had said that an unknown man was seen near their house in the afternoon enquiring about the locality.
Later, the crime branch traced this unknown man, who turned out to be the friend of the child’s father. He admitted to the police that he had kidnapped the boy to help his friend.
