PM Narendra Modi crosses 60mn followers on Twitter

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s following on Twitter crossed 60 million on Sunday. PM Modi is the most followed Indian on Twitter.

In the list of most followed world leaders on Twitter, the Indian Prime Minister still remains is at the third position. Former US President Barack Obama leads the list and is also most followed person on Twitter with 120.7 million followers, double of PM Modi’s followers. Current US President Donald Trump stands at the second position with over 83 million followers.

PM Modi also stands at the 15th place on the list of most-followed accounts on Twitter.

In September 2019, PM Modi’s Twitter account was followed by 50 million accounts. Within a span of 10 months, he has gained 10 million followers. PM Modi started using Twitter back in 2009 when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

PM Modi uses Twitter extensively to stay connected with his followers. He often announces important policy developments, timings of his addresses to the nation and congratulates other leaders and famous personalities through the social media platform.

Meanwhile, PM Modi follows 2,354 people on Twitter.
