Pence Fly won the first Vice Presidential debate on Twitter

The debate between US Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence commenced on a rather serious note on Wednesday but one particular episode during it has sent the internet into an overdrive. While Mike Pence was delivering his speech during the debate, a large fly made an appearance and landed on Mike Pence’s hair.

What’s with the fly?

At around 7:17 PST, the fly landed on the Vice President’s hair and stayed there for about two minutes. Quite obviously, it was difficult for people to concentrate on Mike Pence’s speech and everybody, instead, focused on the fly. As did Twitter.

This fly now has a Twitter account! In fact, several

While the debate was on, several Twitter accounts with the name ‘Fly On Mike Pence’ came up. “I’m a pretty fly on a white guy,” reads one of the tweets.

What is fly will vote dot com?

In fact, someone created a website called fly will vote dot com and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden also tweeted the link of it. The URL though reads, flywillvote dot com, but actually leads you to the page – Iwillvote dot com after you click on the link.

“Select your state, make sure you’re registered to vote, then choose how you’re going to vote this year,” is the agenda of the website as it also shares details about voting in the USA.

Twitter goes berserk

After this episode, ‘fly’ is one of the top trends on the internet. People have been posting hilarious reactions and also trivia related to flies.

“Pence lies with pink eyes as black flies circle clockwise,” a Twitter user said. Another comment reads, “Here’s the thing with the fly…. He didn’t get rid of the fly. The fly left him when it got bored.”
