Rebel Congress leader Sachin Pilot and his MLAs have called a truce. The Sachin pilot camp, which has been on a warpath against Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, agreed to end their rebellion after holding a meeting with top Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal at 15 Gurudwara Rakab Gunj Road, often dubbed as Congress War Room.

Emerging from the meeting, Sachin Pilot said that his fight was not for a post, but for self-respect. Sachin Pilot said that his differences were based on principles. “There were some issues which we wanted to highlight. I did that. I have been saying since the beginning that all these things were based on principle. I always thought these things are essential to be raised in the party’s interest,” Sachin Pilot told media after the meeting.

The rebel leader also claimed that he was not vying for any party post. “I was personally attacked, I am not greedy for any party post, I have fought for my self-respect,” Sachin Pilot said.

Sachin Pilot also welcomed the formation of a three-member committee for the resolution of disputes between him and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. “Sonia Gandhi Ji heard all our concerns and the governance issues that we raised. Formation of the three-member committee by the Congress president is a welcome step. I think all the issues will be resolved,” Sachin Pilot said.

Even as Sachin Pilot declared a truce, he condemned the personal comments made during the tussle between his and Ashok Gehlot camp. “Several things were said, I heard a lot of things. I was surprised by a few things that were said. I think we should always maintain restraint and humility. There is no place for personal malice in politics. We had formed government in Rajasthan after five years of hard work,” Sachin Pilot.
