The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested a management professional for the consumption and distribution of banned narcotic drugs.

The NCB officials arrested Santacruz-resident Jai Madhok on Thursday evening in connection with the case number 16/20, the same case in which Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and 19 others have been booked by the agency.

The NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhede said that arrested accused Jai Madhok was consuming as well as distributed drugs for profit, which establishes him as a peddler.

Wankhede said that Madhok is a distributor of cocaine and hashish and his name has been revealed by several persons accused in the drug case.

The agency has, till now, arrested a total 22 people, including actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and house boy Dipesh Sawant in the matter.

Also arrested in the case, drug peddlers Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar and others were part of a drug syndicate and their arrest helped us trace many other peddlers and suppliers in the case, the NCB officials said.

Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court but her brother Showiks bail plea was rejected citing his proximity and direct links with drug peddlers.

Madhok is known to accused Kshitij Prasad who was brefily employed by Dharma Production.
