Followers of Kalaburagi South MLA Allamprabhu Patil staged a protest during the inauguration of the newly established Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICSR) for not publishing the photograph of their leader in the public advertisements carried out in newspapers on Sunday.
Barely half-an-hour before the scheduled event, Mr. Patil’s supporters reached the Jayadeva Hospital entrance gate, the venue of the inauguration function, and raised an objection for ignoring the MLA by not publishing his photograph in the government advertisement.
The police security forces brought the situation under control within minutes and dispersed them from the premises.
The advertisement carried the photographs of All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash Patil, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge and KKRDB Chairman Ajay Singh.
The event was organised in the Kalaburagi South Constituency represented by Mr. Patil.
