A 12-year-old girl in Bhopal was allegedly raped and blackmailed by a group of three men who befriended her while playing the online video game PUBG.
After the rape, the three men also blackmailed the girl and threatened to upload her objectionable videos online if she resisted or protested. The three have now been arrested, reported PTI.
As per a police complaint filed by the girl’s family, the three accused are residents of Rambha Nagar area in Bhopal and are in the age group of 18-19 years. The three of them became friends with the minor girl online while playing PUBG, said police inspector Alok Srivastava.
The incident took place in September when the three men lured the victim and asked her to come to Rambha Nagar. They then raped the girl and also made an objectionable video.
The group then allegedly blackmailed the girl, saying they would upload her video online if she spurned their advances, and raped her repeatedly, said the police.
Based on the complaint, the three accused were arrested on Wednesday night.
A case has been registered against them under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (2N) (raping repeatedly), 376 (DA) (gang-rape of a girl under 16 years of age) and 506 (criminal intimidation), and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
