A shocking incident has come to light from Amravati in Maharashtra where a coronavirus laboratory technician took vaginal swabs to conduct coronavirus tests on a patient after convincing her that it was important to take samples from her vagina for the test.

A 24-year-old woman went to take the Covid-19 test at the lab after her colleague at a local mall was found positive of coronavirus. The lab technician told her that it was essential to take vaginal swabs for accurate test results for coronavirus.

The technician has been booked under rape charges following a complaint. The incident took place at the Covid Trauma Centre lab in Amravati.

Maharashtra Women and child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur has taken serious note of the incident and has assured strictest action against the culprit.

After the test, the woman discussed the incident with her brother, who inquired with doctors and came to know that there is no such test for coronavirus.
