“Quite obviously too soon to answer any question on my captaincy as I haven’t done it in a long time. I have captained state team but it’s a whole different format and level of cricket so I don’t know much about it, I don’t know how will I react. I am going on with an open mind and going to do to everything possible as a player,” KL Rahul said while talking to India Today’s Consulting Editor (Sports) Boria Majumdar before the RR clash.

“Everybody plays the game thinking they are the leader of the team. In the last 6-7 months I have been wicketkeeping and that helps me access the game better and set field and take decision for the team. There are a lot of things have learned from other captains whom I have played with and watched on TV.

“You guys can tell me what kind of captain I was, was I different from what you have seen. I am as excited as everybody else. I haven’t seen how I react when leading the team,” he added.

While, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) lost a nail-biting thriller against Delhi Capitals (DC) in a Super Over and then came back very strongly to beat Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 97runs, Rajsasthan Royals (RR) kicked off their camaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with a 16-run win.
