Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for “protecting” and “supporting her daughter, Kangana Ranaut’s mother said that the Bollywood actor’s life is at risk in Mumbai.
“I thank Amit Shah and [PM] Narendra Modi who have protected my daughter,” Kangana Ranaut’s mother Asha Ranaut said.
Speaking exclusively to Aaj Tak, Asha Ranaut called the Shiv Sena coward. “India supports my daughter. Why this injustice? This is not Bal Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. It [Shiv Sena] is coward. What type of government is this?”
Taking a dig at Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Asha Ranaut said that Kangana Ranaut’s life is “threatened” in the state. ” India is watching how things are being done with a motive of taking revenge,” she said while attacking the state government.
Referring to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s comments on Kangana, Asha Ranaut said: “Kangana is my daughter. How can he [Raut] talk like this about her? Kangana never lies. I want to appeal to Shiv Sena not to do anything like this.”
“Kangana will stay here [in Maharashtra]. She has spent 15 years there, half of her age. Maharashtra is for all,” Asha Ranaut further said.
Asha Ranaut’s comments come at a time when the war between Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra is showing no signs of simmering down as both sides are stepping up their attacks and counter-attacks.
A day after Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished a part of her bungalow at Pali Hill in Bandra, Kangana Ranaut accused CM Uddhav Thackeray of selling his father and Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology for power. Kangana accused CM Thackeray of turning Shiv Sena into ‘Sonia Sena’ and sending ‘goons of BMC’ to demolish her home.
Shiv Sena, on the other hand, has shrugged on Kangana incident and has said that the action was taken by the BMC and not the state government. However, a Mumbai-based advocate filed a complaint against Kangana Ranaut for allegedly using foul language against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The advocate is also likely to move the court with a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut.
A complaint was filed against Kangana Ranaut by a Mumbai-based lawyer for her remarks on CM Uddhav Thackeray. However, the Mumbai Police refused to file an FIR in the matter.
In yet another big development in Kangana Ranaut vs Shiv Sena row, the Bombay High Court, while hearing the actor’s petition against the BMC over the demolition of her office, posted it for further hearing on September 22. While, Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui claimed that the BMC had damaged the property, leading to water and electricity connections getting disrupted, the BMC denied that it undertook the demolition of ‘illegal’ alterations at actor Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow with ulterior motives.
