Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith looks all set to return to action when his team takes on MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in their opening IPL contest on Tuesday in Sharjah.

Smith took to his official Instagram handle to post a picture of himself ahead of CSK clash and captioned it, “All smiles here in Dubai. So excited to be starting our campaign tonight.” Notably, RR captain Steve Smith has successfully recovered from the concussion injury sustained prior to ODI series against England.

After winning the season-opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will come out all guns blazing against the Rajasthan side. Smith, while appreciating his opponent, said that RR are hoping to put up a good show and start off their IPL 2020 campaign on a positive note.

Chennai Super Kings would definitely start as favorites against Royals, who would be missing their premier all-rounder Ben Stokes for an unspecified duration and opener Jos Buttler for at least the opening game due to quarantine rules.

“Chennai and Mumbai both have been two really strong teams for a long time now. We obviously watched a bit of the game the other night, the Super Kings played really well to get over the line in the end. Hopefully, we can put on a really good show and get our campaign off to a good start,” Smith said.

After locking horns with a dominant CSK side, Royals will face Kings XI Punjab on September 27 and Kolkata Knight Riders on September 30.
