Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, who became the first player to feature in 200 IPL matches after taking the field against Rajasthan Royals on Monday, has provided injury update on his star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.
Dhoni has revealed that Bravo will be out of action for “few matches” because of the groin injury he suffered in his side’s last match against Kings XI Punjab. The 39-year-old talismanic captain reckoned that injuries have been concern for other franchises as well, adding that players not playing for long due to the coronavirus pandemic could be one reason for the problem.
“He won’t be available for the next few games. Injuries are not only our concern but the other franchises as well, that’s because the players have not played for a long time.
After Danny Morrison questioned MS Dhoni the ‘Old Buttler’ about his latest milestone of becoming the first batsman to feature in 200 IPL matches, the CSK captain said he was completely “unaware” of the feat until hearing about it from Morrison himself. Dhoni stated that he was fortunate to play for 13 long years without many injuries.
“You spoke about it and that’s how I got to know (referring to his 200th IPL game). It feels good but at the same time it’s just a number. I feel fortunate to play for such a long time without many injuries.”
Seventh-ranked CSK have the uphill task of winning all their remaining matches and giving their best shot at reaching the play-offs stage of IPL 2020.
