Digital revenue cards to be distributed from November: Minister

The Revenue department will begin distribution of digital revenue cards in the State from November onwards, Revenue Minister K. Rajan has said.

Inaugurating online works of the smart village offices coming up at Onamthuruthu and Kaippuzha, the Minister said each family will receive a card the size of an ATM card, featuring a QR code and a ten-digit digital number. The card will contain records related to land, buildings and details of property transactions.

Holding that strengthening village offices will help resolve all revenue-related issues effectively, the Minister added that the village offices in the State are being democratised with the formation of people’s committees.

Cooperaion Minister V.N. Vasavan presided over . Speaking on he occasion, he said making village offices smart will enable citizens to access services from the comfort of their homes using mobile phones. The Minister also unveiled the foundation plaques of the village offices.

The Onamthuruthu village office is being built on eight cents of land donated by Roys Abraham of Ayiraveli, Neendoor. Similarly, the Kaippuzha village office is being constructed on land donated by the late Joseph Lukose and Georgekutty.
