Devadula Phase-III pumping station operational

The phase-III pumping station of the Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme was switched on by Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy at Devannapet in Hanamkonda district on Thursday, marking a significant milestone in the State government’s efforts to ensure sustainable irrigation and drinking water supply across key constituencies.

Accompanied by Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, MLAs Kadiyam Srihari, K. Nagaraju and Yashaswini Reddy, the Irrigation Minister visited the Dharmasagar reservoir on Thursday evening.

Speaking to the media, he reiterated that the Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme will be completed in all respects in an expeditious manner.

He said, “The successful commissioning of Phase-III pumping station is a decisive step towards protecting standing crops, securing the ayacut and meeting drinking water needs in Telangana.”

“The apathy of the previous BRS regime had delayed approvals and the pace of execution of the project,” he said.

A high-level delegation, including him and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, had recently met Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil in Delhi to seek Central assistance and funding for completing the remaining works of the project.
