A statement from Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s office said his platelet count is falling after being diagnosed with dengue along with Covid-19 at LNJP Hospital.

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi is being treated at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital in the national capital. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 and dengue at the same time earlier this month.
The latest health bulletin from the state-run LNJP Hospital says that Manish Sisodia’s platelet count is falling rapidly owing to dengue. He was admitted to the facility on Wednesday after he complained of fever.
Sisodia first tested positive for Covid-19 on September 14 and made the announcement in a tweet. He also informed the public about his decision to opt for home isolation. It was on September 23 that he was admitted to LNJP Hospital as a precautionary measure.
A senior doctor at LNJP Hospital had said on the morning of September 24 that Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been in ICU since Wednesday, but his condition is stable. The minister has been put on oxygen support at the dedicated Covid-19 facility in LNJP, the doctor had added.
Responding to a question about whether Sisodia had any comorbidites, the doctor had cited ‘hypertension’.
Manish Sisodia also missed the single-day session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly owing to his health. He is the second minister in the AAP cabinet to have tested positive for Covid-19 apart from health minister Satyendar Jain who recovered from the infection earlier this year.
In a public address on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the national capital has crossed the peak of the second wave of Covid-19. He went on to add that this second wave started around August 15 and Delhi saw a significant spike in new cases of infection until September 16.
