At Muzaffarnagar mahapanchayat, youth calls for beheading of PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath

At a mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar, a youth has threatened to behead Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

He was reacting against the UP Police’s assault on Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Choudhary in Hathras district recently. In a video that has now gone viral, the youth is seen addressing a gathering. He is heard threatening that he would behead PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath.

“Let us unite. Want to throw PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath’s head at your feet,” the youth says in the video that is now being shared on Twitter.

The threat of beheading PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath was welcomed with cheers and applause by those present in the mahapanchayat.

The mahapanchayat was held on Thursday following protests against the police’s baton charge on RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary when he had gone to meet the Hathras victim’s family.

In support of the RLD leader, massive protests were held in the districts of Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Bijnor among others on Tuesday.

Rashtriya Lok Dal activists on Monday blocked traffic on the Nauhil Bajna-Aligarh road near Mathura in protest against the alleged lathi-charge by police on their party’s workers who were going to meet the family of the Hathras victim.

The RLD workers also burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, besides raising anti-government slogans.

The protests culminated in a mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar on Thursday.

WHAT HAPPENED IN HATHRAS?

RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary along with party workers had gone to meet the family of the alleged gang-rape victim in Hathras district on October 4 when police resorted to lathi-charge.

RLD alleged that Jayant Chaudhary and party workers were thrashed with lathis by the police. Jayant Chaudhary was speaking to reporters when policemen attacked him.

The incident triggered outrage among the Jat community that saw this as an attack on their community. Hathras police said RLD workers had broken police barriers and pushed and shoved police personnel on duty. To bring the situation under control, “light force” was used against the agitated crowd.
