AR Rahman says Taylor Swift’s success ‘feels good’: She got cheated, made comeback

Composer AR Rahman recently praised American singing sensation Taylor Swift and said that her success ‘feels good.’ He also opened up about their potential collaboration.

The Mozart of Madras was asked if he would ever work with Swift, Rahman told Connect FM Canada, “Whatever she wants. If she wants a dance number, it will be a dance number. If she wants a romantic number, so be it. She writes the lyrics anyway.”

Rahman then went on to shower praise on Swift and her comeback.

Her (Swift) success feels really good. She has gone through a lot, she got cheated and she made a comeback, so it is a good case study, good inspiration for musicians,” Rahman added.

Rahman also spoke candidly about the difference between composing for Indian movies and international films: “They (Indian filmmakers) are open to new ideas, internationally, it is not so easy. Because they are very critical. But if you have a hit song to your credit then your life is great, because the market is so huge, the world embraces you.”

Rahman recently composed music for Imtiaz Ali film, Amar Singh Chamkila.
