Anti-terror body arrests 3 ISIS terrorists in Gujarat for planning attacks in India

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Friday, in a counter-terrorism operation, arrested three ISIS-linked terrorists from Ahmedabad, the state’s capital, who were on a mission to exchange weapons for a potential terrorist attack.

As per the officials, these three terrorists, Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed, Mohammed Suhail, and Azad Saifi, were on the radar of the ATS for more than a year. The three received weapons from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh and came to Gujarat to deliver them as a consignment.

Among the three terrorists, Suhail and Azad Saifi are residents of the Western Part of Uttar Pradesh, while Mohinuddin is a resident of Hyderabad.

While investigating further, the police have discovered that Mohinuddin holds an MBBS degree from China, and he is in contact with a member of the Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISKP), a regional branch of ISIS.

In India, he connected with Suhail and Saifi, and the three were working on manufacturing a poisonous liquid called resin. A chemical that can cause harm if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin.

The ATS further noted that the ingredients to prepare the liquid, along with weapons, were found in Mohinuddin’s car. He was supposed to return to Hyderabad after the successful delivery of the weapons.

The police are further investigating to trace the source of the weapons.
