The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved the proposal granting authority to the AP CRDA Commissioner to approve the L1 (the bidder who submitted the lowest bid or quotation) bids for two works under the CRDA’s jurisdiction.

The CRDA will take up construction of the Legislative Assembly building at an estimated cost of ₹617.33 crore and the High Court building with a cost of ₹786.05 crore.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said the Cabinet also approved the proposal for establishment of a State Climate Centre (S-C3) under the City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIIS) 2.0 programme.

The initiative aims to strengthen climate governance mechanisms and implement climate action plans through data-based planning and capacity building in the State, he said.

Mr. Ramanaidu said the Cabinet approved the proposal for post facto administrative approval of the work carried out for restoration of 48 bunds and other related activities in the Yerrakalva catchment area due to heavy rains caused by cyclone in August 2018. The estimated expenditure for these works was ₹3.31 crore.

The Cabinet gave its nod to the proposal seeking administrative approval for essential works required to fill the Nallamala Reservoir in the context of the II & IV packages of the Poola Subbiah Veligonda Project. The work included continuing the Feeder Canal and Teegaluru Canal Head Works with M/s MEIL, Hyderabad, and the Eastern Main Canal Head Regulator with M/s SCL Infratech Limited, Hyderabad, for which work orders were issued. The total estimated cost was ₹106.39 crore, he said.

The State Cabinet also approved the proposal for payment of ₹57.56 crore as per the terms of contract for the remaining headworks of the Polavaram Project entrusted to M/s Navayuga Engineering Company Limited. The amount, along with the final bill of ₹36.37 crore, was to be paid in accordance with the approved proposal, he said.

The Cabinet also approved the detailed project reports (DPRs) for the division of 11kV mixed agricultural feeders in the three undivided districts under the APCPDCL jurisdiction. These divisions were a part of the efforts to carry out the work under the RDSS scheme.

Power projects

The Cabinet gave the green signal to the proposal to allocate two power projects to M/s Odisha Power Consortium Limited, which includes the Balimela (Chitrakonda) Dam Power House (2×30 MW) and Jalaput Dam Power House (3×6 MW).

The Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by M/s JSW Neo Energy Limited to set up an 88 MW Wind Power Project at Aspari in Kurnool district under the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy-2024.

The Cabinet approved the proposal from M/s. Renew Vikram Shakti Private Limited for the establishment of a 540 MW AC / 753.30 MWp DC Solar Power Project in the villages of Gutti and Pamidi mandals in Anantapur district.

The proposal submitted by M/s Chinta Green Energy Private Limited for establishment of a 2000 MW AC / 2500 MWp DC Solar Power Project, along with BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), at Haresamudram, Bullasamudram, Upparlapalli, Errabommanahalli, Kallumarri, Manuru, and nearby villages in Madakasira mandal of Sri Sathya Sai district was also approved.

The Cabinet gave its nod to the proposal from M/s Chinta Green Energy Private Limited for establishment of a 700 MW AC / 875 MWp DC Solar Power Project with BESS in the villages of Tammidipatnam, East Kanupuru, and Vellapalem of Chillakuru mandal, and Karlapudi and Siddhavaripeta of Kota mandal in Tirupati district, Mr. Ramanaidu said.

Social Welfare Minister Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Home Minister V. Anitha were present.
