In a sudden development, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb resigned today.
Deb submitted is resignation to the Governor SN Arya, new agencies reported.
The outgoing CM made the announcement following a meeting with the governor at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala.
Deb had come to Delhi two days back and met Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.
According to media reports, there have been infightings within the Tripura BJP. According to sources, Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma, who is connected to the erstwhile Tripura royal family, may take charge in the interim.
Tripura is scheduled to go to polls next year.
