The Trinamool Congress leadership is making major preparations for the 2023 panchayat polls with Mamata Banerjee travelling to many districts and establishing contact with booth workers and the people. The party aims to minimise violence that marred the 2018 panchayat polls.
“Mamata Banerjee has started establishing direct contact with booth-level workers in view of the panchayat elections scheduled to be held next year,” party’s national spokesperson Sukhendu Sekhar Roy told ET. “A ‘top to bottom’ contact is being established. People in the three-tier panchayat system will be reached out to and told about the pro-people policies being implemented by the Banerjee government,” he said.
