MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will renew their rivalry with Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians in a high voltage IPL 2020 opener at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on September 19.
There is no bigger match-up in the IPL that can boast of a larger fan following and viewer interest than that of the Super Kings squaring against the Mumbai franchise. However, as per MI skipper Rohit Sharma, this is “just another opposition for the defending champions.
“Playing against CSK is always fun, we enjoy that battle. But when we play the game it is just another opposition for us and that is how we want to move forward,” Rohit Sharma said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their official social media accounts.

Dhoni and Rohit are the two most successful captains in the history of the cash-rich league as they share seven titles between them. The two captains will once again be put to the acid test when their teams lock horns on the opening day of IPL 2020. . Both the skippers know exactly what it takes to win the coveted IPL crown and their teams are studded with players who are capable of taking their teams to another successful campaign.
Mumbai Indians’ star all-rounder Hardik Pandya however feels that “people look forward to” a match like MI vs CSK.
“It has become a game which people look forward to. It is one of the two franchises that are most loved by the fans and that is how it becomes special. I do not know when we all will get our A-game out when we are playing against CSK and I wish we always do that,” Hardik Pandya said in the same video.
