Unlock 4.0 guidelines announced: The Government of India on Saturday announced the guidelines for ‘Unlock 4’ which will remain in force till September 30, reports said.

As per the guidelines, the national directives for COVID-19 management shall continue to be followed throughout the country, while ensuring social distancing.

Like earlier, shops will be required to maintain adequate physical distancing among customers during Unlock 4.0 as well.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will be monitoring the effective implementation of the national directives.

The COVID-19 lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till September 30, the order further stated.

Besides this, the Government of India has said that no state or Union Territory government shall not impose any local lockdown at the state, district, sub-division, city or village level, outside the containment zones, without prior consultation with the Central Government.

What is allowed:

1) Social, political, religious functions to be permitted with a ceiling of 100 persons with effect from September 21.
2) States, UTs may permit upto 50 pc of teaching, non-teaching staff to be called to schools for online teaching, tele-counselling related work.
3) Students of classes 9 to 12 may be allowed to visit schools outside Containment Zones with parents’ written consent.
4) Metro rail will be allowed to operate from September 7 in a graded manner.
5) There shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods.
6) No separate permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements.

What is not allowed:

All activities, barring the following, will be permitted outside containment zones:
1) Schools, colleges, other educational institutions will remain closed up to September 30.
2) Cinema halls
3) Swimming pools
4) Entertainment parks
5) Theatres (excluding open-air theatre), and similar places.
6) International air travel of passengers, except as permitted by MHA.
