Digitisation of SIR enumeration forms nearing completion in Kozhikode

With the support of Booth-Level Officers (BLOs), election authorities have completed the digitisation of 99% of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms as part of the ongoing voters’ list update for 2026 in Kozhikode district.

Of the 26,58,847 forms distributed across the district, 26,58,722 have already been digitised. According to Revenue department officials, BLOs played a crucial role in achieving the targets set earlier.

Meanwhile, 1,95,605 forms, accounting for 7.36% of the total, were not returned even after the deadline for submission of the filled enumeration forms ended on Thursday (December 18). Officials said forms received by the deadline would be included in the draft electoral roll, scheduled for publication on December 23.

Election authorities have also finalised the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) list, which includes voters who could not be located despite repeated visits by BLOs, those who had passed away, individuals without permanent residence, and cases of duplicate registrations. The ASD list has been shared with all BLOs and booth-level agents to ensure transparency. Voters and political representatives can verify the details through the BLOs concerned.

At the same time, officials said 3.87% of the returned forms — a total of 1,03,029 — could not be matched with the 2002 electoral roll and would undergo further verification. The voters concerned would be contacted as part of the verification process, they added.
