Over hundreds of candidates gathered at the Jharkhand Chief Minister’s residential office in Ranchi on Thursday (December 4, 2025), a day after the Jharkhand High Court ordered the lifting of the stay on the results and appointments of the Jharkhand State Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) examination.
They expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren who is also an MLA.
A division bench of the Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday (December 3, 2025) had dismissed a petition seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged leak of question papers of JSSC CGL examination conducted last year on September 21 and 22.
Around 6.5 lakh candidates had registered for the JSSC CGL exam 2023 but only 82,000 appeared to take the test. A total of 2231 candidates were selected for the document verification process. Nearly 2025 posts across various departments will be filled.
“Every aspect of the JSSC CGL exam case was investigated with complete impartiality, strict action was taken against the culprits, the court respected the impartial investigation and the honest efforts and sentiments of the candidates, and justice was served,”Mr. Soren told the reporters.
He asserted that his government conducted as many civil service examinations in the last five years as the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) conducted in the last 18 years
Mr. Soren extended heartiest congratulations to all candidates who cleared the exam after a long struggle. He pointed out that if intentions were good, everything is better.
“If intentions are good, everything improves. As a result, all obstacles related to the JSSC CGL examination and the recruitment process have now been removed. Although there was a slight delay, otherwise, we would have celebrated the joy of presenting your appointment letters at the state-level function organized on the first anniversary of the state government. However, many congratulations to all of you for your long-suffering success and victory,”Mr. Soren said.
He addressed the candidates who had gathered to celebrate with drums and trumpets, following the Jharkhand High Court’s order to release the JSSC CGL results and begin the recruitment process.
The Chief Minister said that there are some inimical elements in this state who conspire to disrupt every competitive examination and they also attempted to conspire regarding the JSSC CGL examination.
“The matter reached the High Court. However, our government conducted a thorough, impartial investigation. Those who conspired to tarnish the fairness and transparency of this competitive examination were punished,”Mr. Soren said.
He also stated that allegations of malpractice were reported in several JPSC examinations conducted in the state but all examinations under the government have remained clean.
Giving confidence to the aspirants, Mr. Soren said that his government stands firmly with the youth at every step.
“Our clear vision is that our state will prosper only when the youth are happy. This is why efforts to shape the future of youth continue despite numerous challenges,”Mr. Soren said.
The candidates also expressed their confidence in the leadership of Mr. Soren, saying that his tireless efforts, the state government’s impartial investigation of the entire JSSC CGL exam case, and the strict action taken against the culprits have led to justice.
