During his questioning, Siddharth Pithani revealed to the CBI that eight hard drives were destroyed before Rhea Chakraborty left Sushant Singh Rajput’s house on June 8.

The CBI team, who is investigating Sushant Singh Rajput death in Mumbai, questioned the late actor’s friend and flatmate Siddharth Pithani in connection with the case. During the questioning, Siddharth informed the CBI that 8 hard drives were destroyed on June 8 at Sushant’s residence before Rhea Chakraborty left the actor’s house.
Rhea and Sushant had a fight before she left his residence on June 8. It was also reported earlier that Rhea and Sushant had broken up, hence the former moved out of the late actor’s home. Rhea’s WhatsApp exchange with Mahesh Bhatt had in fact corroborated the same. Based on this, one could gauge that perhaps the two decided to delete personal pictures and videos from the hard drives in a ‘digital breakup’ of sorts. Sushant and Rhea had dated for around a year. Neither made their relationship social media-official, although they had been spotted together on several occasions, at events or while stepping out of the gym. They had even been on a Euro trip together around Diwali in 2019. Subsequently, neither spoke of their breakup either.

Sushant died by suicide on June 14. As per CBI sources, Siddharth has said that he is not aware of the content in the hard drive. He also informed the CBI that one IT professional was present there to destroy the drives. It is not clear who called him there to destroy the hard drives. He said that Rhea and Sushant were in the room and were watching everything. The late actor’s househelp Dipesh Sawant and his cook Neeraj Singh were also in the same room. The CBI will quiz Siddharth again on the matter.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI is investigating Sushant’s death case in Mumbai. They have questioned Siddharth and Neeraj twice. They also grilled Sushant’s CA Sandeep Sridhar and his former accountant Rajat Mewati.
After revelation of Rhea’s WhatsApp chats, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is also investigating a drug angle in Sushant’s death case.
The Narcotics Control Bureau today filed a case in Delhi. The NCB has registered a case under Sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. They has also booked Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others, against whom the ED had prepared a case.
