It’s a good time to be a fan of RR at the moment.The Royals look like genuine title contenders and have responded well to challenges this season. They have had people step up for them over the last few games and in the win against RCB, it was captain Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler who nullified a valiant effort from Virat Kohli to hand RR their 4th consecutive win of the campaign. However, the same can’t be said about GT.
The Gujarat side, who finished at the top of the table in the last two seasons at the end of the league phase, find themselves in 7th this season as Shubman Gill has struggled to inspire the team as captain. Key players like himself and Rashid Khan are yet to hit their stride while the absence of Mohammed Shami has hit the team hard. Mohit Sharma’s form and Sai Sudharsan’s resilience have been the hallmarks of an underwhelming campaign so far, but they would want to bounce back in Jaipur.
The focus will be on both captains, Gill and Samson, who are looking to get into prime form with the T20 World Cup 2024 on the horizon.

Gujarat are hopeful of Miller coming back soon, but the RR game could be a little too early for him. RR currently have no reason to change their winning combination but will be hoping that Sandeep Sharma will be returning soon. If that’s the case, Nandre Burger will be back as the impact player for the side.
