The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday confirmed the suspension of Chinese mobile manufacturer VIVO’s sponsorship for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2020. India Today, earlier this week, reported VIVO will not be IPL’s title sponsor in 2020 in the wake of the growing border tension between India and China.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd have decided to suspend their partnership for Indian Premier League in 2020,” the BCCI said in a statement.
