The Thoothukudi district police tweeted out a note of the CB-CID asking RJ Suchitra to take her video on the custodial death of father-son duo custodial killing down and said RJ Suchitra’s “descriptive narration of the incident is baseless and is not truly indicative of the real happenings”.

“Recently, a video posted by Ms. Suchitra, a south Indian cine singer, describing the Sathankulam incident is doing rounds in the social media sites. Ms. Suchitra’s descriptive narration of the incident is baseless and is not truly indicative of the real happenings,” the CB-CID note read.

The note also said that Suchitra had “falsely exaggerated and sensationalised the chain of events and that her allegations seem to be a “figment of imagination”.

“In this video she [RJ Suchitra] falsely exaggerated and sensationalized the chain of events and her allegations seems to be a figment of imagination and is not backed up by any proof. Investigation into the case does not find any substance in the allegation. The video is promoting hatred against the police,” the CB-CID said.

RJ Suchitra has taken down the video from her social media and the CB-CID, while confirming the same, said: “Ms. Suchitra has now taken down these falsified contents on it being flagged to her”.

“The division bench of Hon’ble High Court of Madras appealed to print, visual and social media not to misinterpret or mislead the proceedings and observations of the court. The Bench also further appealed them not to conduct media trials as that would affect the prosecution as well as the accused. The general public is requested not to believe or share such videos,” the CB-CID further said.
