Four children aged between 3-12 years were hacked to death with an axe in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon while their parents were out for work. Police have formed an SIT to further investigate the case.

The incident took place in Borkheda village of Jalgaon. The parents, Mehtab and Rumali Bhilala, are originally from Madhya Pradesh and came to work in Jalgaon on farms. Their village in Madhya Pradesh is just a few kilometres away and the couple had come to work in Jalgaon on a farm owned by one Mustafa.

On Friday, the couple had gone out for work when the farm owner Mustafa found all the four children lying in a pool of blood. They were found murdered. The cops later found a blood-soaked axe near the children’s bodies.

The cops said all the children might have been murdered with the same axe. The children were identified as Saita (12), Rawal (11), Anil (8) and Suman (3).

A special team has been formed by the police to investigate the case with an IPS officer who will be heading the team. The four bodies have been sent for post mortem, which will be done in-camera.

Police have asked for senior doctors and forensic experts to also join the case. Police are yet to identify the accused and are not ruling out any angles in the case.
