Police interacting with villagers as part of bandobast arrangements for Maha Sivaratri celebrations, at Tadimarri in Sri Sathya Sai district on Sunday.
To maintain perfect law and order during the Maha Sivaratri celebrations in Sri Sathya Sai district, the district police on Sunday undertook extensive cordon and search operations, focusing on the famous Saivite centres such as Lepakshi, Hemavathi, and Doddeswara temples.
Superintendent of Police V. Ratna told the media that to ensure peaceful conduct of the celebrations across the district, special teams were formed to maintain round-the-clock surveillance at the check-posts and sensitive areas. Special focus would be laid on the identification of suspicious persons, for which technology would be deployed. Control rooms had been set up at the Dharmavaram sub-division. The SP appealed to the residents at the pilgrimage centres to extend their best cooperation to the devotees. She urged the public to cooperate with the police personnel during the celebrations.
In Chittoor district, Superintendent of Police V.N. Manikantha Chandolu held a review meeting with the Deputy SPs of Kuppam, Palamaner, Chittoor, and Nagari in connection with the bandobast arrangements. The bandobast would be arranged at the temples of Moghili, Mallappakonda in Kuppam, Kaigal waterfalls, and Bugga, where a huge crowds are expected.
