Dushyant Chautala has been battling opposition from powerful farmer lobby in the state after the recent farm bills became law. Farm bills were passed by both the houses of parliament amid controversy and uproar. Dushyant Chautala is the heir to the legacy of Chaudhary Devi Lal whose politics centred around farmers and farm issues. The powerful Jat community in Haryana has been up in arms against the farm bills and they have been protesting against the BJP-led government in Haryana, of which Dushyant and his JJP are a partner.
